1. Dunya
This World or this life (literally, the lower World or the lower life).
2. Fitna
Literally refers to the use of fire to separate metal in the ore from impurity. In Islamic usage it is most commonly used to refer to trials and tribulations. I say more about this in the post on Temptation.
3. Hadeeth
(also Hadith) A statement that attributes words or action to the prophet, may God's peace and blessings be upon him, describes something that happened with his knowledge without sanction, or describes the physical appearance, character, or habits of the prophet, may God's peace and blessings be upon him.
4. Hamd
An expression of both praise and gratitude. In Islamic usage, usually directed to God and expressing the emotions of love, gratitude, and reverence all together. Includes the notion that God is worthy of praise and of thanks regardless of the specific blessings that He gives.
5. Hijra
Migration. With a capital 'H' this refers to themigration from Makka to Madeena.
6. LTP
Leadership Training Program. MAS (Muslim American Society) and MAC activists working with the MSA of the United States and Canada developed a program directed at training MSA executives and officers/directors. The program has since evolved and is currently offered by MAC for MSA executives in Canada. It is a full-weekend, multi-MSA, holistic experiential program addressing a wide spectrum of learning styles and focusing on the core concepts of leadership as seen in the Quran and the life history of prophet Muhammad, may God's peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions.
7. MAC
Muslim Association of Canada. A Canadian non-profit representing a grass-roots Islamic movement in Canada. MAC's vision is to establish a Muslim presence in Canada that is balanced, constructive, and integrated, though distinct, within the social fabric and culture of Canada.

9. Mufassir
A scholar specializing in the interpretation of or commentary upon the Quran.
10. Mufassiroon
Plural of Mufassir.
